ON MY DEATH
[ by Dr. Dharmadasa Tennakoon]

The time has so passed
In fast and fast
Thousands of days, and
Nights, in vain
Over the humps of sad
Feelings and hurts
Waned thoughts luster
The indignant mind
To refresh and restore
The decimated past
Monsoon winds
Blow fast from and over
The Western Shores
The Western Shores
Showers and mist soar
Over the wrecked windows
A shade of lightning
Brightened the darkness
O ho! "Mara" my Angel
In an amicable sneer
Crept unto my sight
Breaking of droop moods
Bent closer to my cheek
Bent closer to my cheek
Whispered, calmly
"Thou hath more time"
Days and days
Nights and nights
Have passed in fast
Lonesome silly soul
Incite to my heart
To rest in disgrace
No longer to have
More or less breaths
Floating fogs with
The winds in the rain
Splatter on the outer walls
Sad dark cloudy shades
Cross over my heart
A flame of like-light
Crept unto my sight
O ho! "Mara" my Angel
Bent closer to my cheek
Whispered, amicably
"Thou hath more time"
The World is in turmoil
The face and shape
On a thrust for
Change and distort
Rivals in compete and lusts
Burst for curse and hate
Rigging over humane
I have nothing to
Proffer this world
Wrath mind begins to
Urge for the Destiny
The time has lapsed fast
With days and nights
With sad and joys
Lonely nights with
Sorrowful thoughts
Prompt my mind to
Cease all sad and feels
Days are windy
With dark clouds
Wet winter mist breeze
Shower in cold
Rapped rags kept on
Warmer my heart
A shade of a flame of light
Crushed unto my sight
O ho! "Mara" my Angel
Not come for the last time
Not come for the last time
Bent over my face
Whispered, calmly
And, rigouresly
And, rigouresly
"Thou hath more time"
Days have passed, so fast
Lonely soul sees the barren sky
Reddish weary lonely Sun
Sets down in the West Arc
Cloudy dark shades
Splash over the spheres
Sad fox stands to bark wanely
Foggy winds have come to
Commence the season
Chills are probing unto
Old rotten rickety bones
A flame of a shady light
Creeps down to my sight
O ho! "Mara" my Angel
Approached for the last time
Bent unto my face
Whispered, so calmly
"Thou hath no time"
"Time hast come"
